Electricity Anniversary
It is said to be the day when the first electric light was turned on in Japan in 1878 (Meiji 11).
I suddenly remembered Nankichi Niimi's "Ojisan no lamp".
It must have been dazzling to see electric lights for the first time from the life of lamps in the past.
For many years, we have taken for granted that we have electricity, but the recent news reports about the power shortage and the need to save electricity make me think that we may not take it for granted from now on.
It may be a good time to change our lifestyle to early to bed and early to rise. 😉 😉
This morning I looked inside to get rid of a paper bag and found a watch I thought I had dropped while out and about in February. (It is possible that I am a blabbermouth....
Around last fall, I wanted a solar-powered watch from a Japanese manufacturer and finally found one, so I was bummed to lose it.
