Purse Day

The etymology of the word "wallet" is a Chinese word. The word "zai" means "treasure" as in "man's treasure," and "nuno" means a textile made of cotton or linen, and the word "purse" means a bag made of it.
(From "Dictionary of the Etymology of Food, Clothing, Food, and Housing," edited by Kinhiko Yoshida, Tokyo-Do Shuppan, 1996)

I wondered if the original of a purse was a cloth bag to hold treasures, so I put my treasured Miracle into a Matsusaka cotton bag that I received a few years ago, as shown in the photo. Now that is a purse!

What are your treasures?

We are experimenting to see how well we can talk and communicate with robots in preparation for a super-aging society where more and more people live alone.
