Yesterday afternoon, Miracle and I went to the NHK Osaka Atrium in the neighborhood of our office.
It was a public viewing with a big 8k super high definition screen.
The venue was covered with artificial grass, and there were probably about 400 people there.
Before the game, the announcer, Mr. Takashima, an active rugby player (Kintetsu), and Mr. Mitsuomi Takahashi, an actor (who played rugby as a student) talked about rugby and the game for about 40 minutes.

During the discussion, one of my questions was answered.
When I watched the Irish game on TV the other day, I noticed something the size of a business card attached to the back of the uniform, just below the nape of the neck. Japanese people would have thought it was a good luck charm or something.

I wondered if it was a GPS, since Mr. Takashima mentioned that the players wore GPS even in practice.
He said that the players use GPS to record how much they move and what kind of movements they make.
I can't slack off, is that the idea of a lazy person like me?

Another question is who brings the green platform under the ball when kicking it to the goal post?
This also looked like it came from the bench of a teammate when I watched the game on the big screen.

Also, as Mr. Takahashi was surprised to hear, rugby is subject to frequent minor rule changes, and according to Mr. Takashima, there are times when a rule change is communicated on a Wednesday, and then applied on the following Saturday.

(The question that remains is the players' hairstyle...)

We had this kind of rugby talk before the game, and of course the game was very exciting.
The large 8k screen is very powerful.
Along with a bird's eye view of the entire field, the clear images were powerful, as if we were watching the play right next to the players on the field.
It's a different way to see the game.

It was my first time to go to a public viewing, and I enjoyed it.
There were many families, couples, groups, and people from all walks of life, but there were also a lot of people who came alone, and I felt that there were more senior men and women alone than I expected. (Is it because the venue is NHK?).

There was no sense of discomfort even if I participated alone, and I learned that there is such a way to have fun, clapping my hands together and shouting unintentionally.
I learned that there is such a way to have fun. This is also thanks to rugby.
I think this game was probably an amazing game that will be talked about for years to come in Japanese rugby.
I was fortunate to be able to see that game in this way. I'll be cheering for them in the next game.
